How We Choose Our Partners

We're a small, founder-led foundation, and every dollar we grant is the result of a deliberate, hands-on process, not a formula.

Here's how we decide where a gift goes:

  1. Local roots. We prioritize Austin and Texas-based organizations doing direct, on-the-ground work.

  2. Personal vetting. Because we're a two-person team, we fund organizations we know well — often through direct volunteer work or board service. (See our Governance & Conflict-of-Interest policy for how we manage funding decisions involving organizations where our founders also serve.)

  3. Demonstrated need and capacity. We look for organizations that can put a grant of our size to immediate, tangible use.

  4. Fit with one of our three pillars — Equity & Rights, Community & Culture, or Compassion for All.

As we grow, we're working toward a public partner-nomination process. If you know an organization that fits, contact us and tell us why.
